“Serving humanity is Shiva’s worship in action.”
When the devastating earthquake struck Nepal in 2015, countless homes, lives, and sacred spaces were reduced to rubble. Amid the widespread suffering and uncertainty, Bhandareśhwar Mahadev Temple became more than a spiritual sanctuary — it became a center of hope, resilience, and service.
Guided by the spirit of compassion that Lord Shiva embodies, our temple community immediately mobilized to support those affected:
Emergency Relief Camps: Within hours, the temple premises were transformed into safe shelters for displaced families, offering food, water, and warmth.
Food & Essentials Distribution: With the support of volunteers and devotees, we distributed thousands of meals, clean drinking water, blankets, and daily necessities.
Medical Aid: First aid stations and health camps were set up in collaboration with local healthcare workers to provide immediate care to the injured and sick.
Mental & Spiritual Healing: In times of immense loss, prayer, chanting, and community support became a source of inner strength. We held daily havans, bhajans, and spiritual gatherings to help people heal emotionally and spiritually.
Our work didn’t stop with emergency relief. Over the following months:
We assisted in rebuilding homes for the most affected families in the Sifal and Bagmati areas.
We supported children’s return to school by distributing stationery and uniforms.
We continued to offer free meals and shelter to elderly and vulnerable individuals who lost everything.
Bhandareśhwar Mahadev’s legacy isn’t just in stone — it lives through selfless action. In honoring Shiva, we honor life itself. Every act of kindness, every helping hand extended during the earthquake, was an offering at His feet.
Our temple remains committed to supporting the community in times of crisis — not only as a place of worship but as a pillar of hope, unity, and service.
